My name is Erin and I am the MAP Participant Coordinator, which means I am the personal link between you and the MAP department here at MASA.
The MAP department is exclusively for you as a MASA participant. MAP (MASA Activities for Participants) offers a wide range of programming and cultural events outside of your own program schedule. |
|
These activities range from exclusive MASA concerts with such Israeli artists as Idan Raichel and HaDag Nahash, to shabbatonim discussing Israel's security issues with Israeli government and military personal.
|
I am also the editor of Footprints, the MAP newsletter. This monthly publication is solely for you and your time here in Israel. It includes information concerning such things as: traveling in Israel, where to go hiking, where to find information on concerts, festivals, and other cultural events in the country, as well as including articles that explore issues concerning your integration into Israeli culture and society.
MAP also has a Facebook page (MASA Footprints – MAP Online), which is meant to operate as a MASA participant forum. Through this site you can get information on MASA events, contact me, and, most importantly, access each other! No one is better than you when it comes to recommending the best bar in Tel Aviv, what to do on a Shabbat, or where to buy the best backpacking backpack. So post a comment and make a friend!
As the MAP Participant Coordinator, I am here for you, so please feel free to contact with me if you have any comments or questions concerning your time in Israel. I can be reached via Facebook (Erin MasaMap) or email(masamap@masaisrael.org). | Be in touch and have fun!

Sites I Like
|
|
Eganu. A window into the Israeli music scene that lets you brouse Israeli groups, sample their music, and check out their upcoming shows. Eganu is also an Israeli social network so take the opportunity to join as a member in order order to keep up-to-date with the Israeli culture scene while in Israel, as well as to stay in touch after you leave.
Give the Stage to Culture. This website lists all cultural events in the country. It's wonderful, but in Hebrew. I will be posting the highlights on the MAP homepage, so make sure to check-in periodically to see what's going on.
Israel Nature & National Parks Protection Authority. This website lists and describes all national parks in Israel, as well as offering opening hours, entrance fees, and contact information. The English site tends to be a little out of date, so it is recommended to contact the park before heading out for a day of adventure.
Kikar-Israel, the online guide to the Israeli music scene.
Ecotourism Israel. This site has amazing resources and information concerning ecotourism in Israel. It also has fantastic links to nature reserves and parks, as well as hiking opportunities. This site is wonderful for those interested in places to go during the hagim, but be warned, make your reservations early! |
